Description
Design, build and evolve secure, scalable and reusable Java backend services for card-processing, card-management
and payment ecosystems. Enterprise integrations within the Cards domain: card issuing, card acquiring, transaction
processing, tokenization, Visa/Mastercard integrations. Senior hands-on engineering role (no people management, no
production-support ownership).
Must have
• 5+ yrs Java backend
• 3+ yrs Spring Boot
• 3+ yrs REST APIs + system integrations
• 2+ yrs Oracle DB + SQL (PL/SQL where relevant)
• 2+ yrs Apache Kafka or event-driven messaging
• 2+ yrs Docker + Kubernetes or OpenShift
• 3+ yrs card-processing or card-management integrations (MANDATORY)
• 2+ yrs card issuing/acquiring/authorization/transaction platforms
• Proven Visa and/or Mastercard integration experience
• ISO 8583 messaging standards
• Card lifecycle: issuance, activation, renewal, replacement, tokenization
• Authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation
• EMV concepts, card schemes certification, scheme-mandated changes
• OAuth 2.0, JWT
• JUnit, Mockito
• CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Gradle, Git, shell scripting
• Structured logging, metrics, tracing - 2 of: ELK/OpenTelemetry/Prometheus/Grafana

• SmartVista or similar card-management platform
• Payment gateways, card switches, payment processing platforms
• Visa Token Service (VTS), Mastercard MDES
• Apple Pay / Google Pay integrations
• PCI-DSS, fraud-monitoring integrations
• Banking/payments/regulated-industry delivery (2+ yrs preferred)
• Microsoft Copilot or enterprise-approved GenAI assistant
